Hugo Hazon as Principal Investor at Concept Ventures. Hugo joins from Illuminate Financial where he spent nearly three years investing in early-stage B2B enterprise tech, building a portfolio including Fundamental, Flox and Gladia.io.
Hugo holds an MSc in Climate Change and Sustainable Finance from Mines Paris and a Master's in Finance from EDHEC. Prior to venture, he was a professional volleyball player with Paris Volley. Hugo remains a keen football player and still occasionally plays beach-volley ball and padel.
At Concept, Hugo sources new investment opportunities, meeting founders and building relationships across the ecosystem. He engages with prospective portfolio companies from first contact through to investment. Once a company is backed, he stays closely involved, supporting founders with early hires, product decisions, and key introductions. His background investing in enterprise tech also means he plays a key role in assessing more technical opportunities that come through the fund.
